Kristin Van Cleve, violin, is the Director of the Music Department at the University of Dallas and also directs the UD Chamber Ensembles. She is Principal Second Violin with the Dallas Opera Orchestra and is Artistic Director and Principal Violinist of the historical performance ensemble, Texas Camerata. Kristin began violin studies in her hometown of Fairbanks, Alaska and later moved to Texas, receiving both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Violin Performance from the University of North Texas. As a baroque violinist, she has performed in Boston, Washington, D.C., France, Mexico, Bolivia and throughout the southwest. Most recently, Kristin returned to Paris, France in August 2014 for a performance of English Baroque works in the Eglise Saint-Louis. In addition to performing with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, she is a member of the New Hampshire Music Festival Orchestra, and has returned to Alaska as a faculty member of the Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival. Kristin also maintains an active private teaching studio in Dallas, performs with the Fort Worth Symphony and is concertmaster of the Wichita Falls Symphony. She has been a featured soloist in Wichita Falls a number of times, most recently performing the violin solo in Rimsky-Korsakov's Scheherazade.
Ms. Jones currently holds the position of Assistant Principal Second Violin with the Dallas Opera Orchestra and performs with the Dallas Symphony, the Fort Worth Symphony, and the Wichita Falls Symphony. In addition, she is the first violinist of the Texas Winds String Quartet, which has been performing the cycle of Beethoven's String Quartets. Ms. Jones has toured Japan and Hawaii with the Cincinnati Baroque Ensemble, and since 1986, she has spent the summers as Assistant Concertmaster of the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) Festival Orchestra in Graz, Austria. Ms. Jones holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Music degree from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. In addition to attending concerts and opera, her hobbies include travel, cooking, and swimming with the Dallas Aquatic Masters.
Suneetha (Sunny) is a member of the second violin section of the Dallas Opera Orchestra.
After receiving a Bachelor of Music degree from the Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, and a Master of Music degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, Lisa Shields was a member of the Cleveland Opera and Ballet Orchestras, the Ohio Chamber Orchestra, and the Trinity Chamber Players. She has been a member of the Dallas Opera Orchestra since 1992, and has also performed with many other local musical organizations, including the Dallas Summer Musicals and Dallas Bach Society. She plays in the Lewisvillle Lake and Wichita Falls Symphonies, and brings music to the retirement community with the Texas Winds Musical Outreach String Quartet. Lisa is a Suzuki Violin Instructor, and she has a large studio of students at all levels of advancement. Since raising two wonderful grown daughters, she now shares her home with husband Kirk and their two demanding but loveable kitties.
Barbara Allen is a violinist and core musician with the Dallas Opera Orchestra. She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Texas at Austin, and received her Master of Music Degree from Southern Methodist University. Barbara has been a faculty member and violinist with the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. She was also a member of the Innsbruck Symphony and Opera Orchestra in Innsbruck, Austria as well as performing frequently with the Muenchner Chamber Orchestra in Munich, Germany. She has played many professional studio recording sessions in Dallas, and numerous performances and tours with many entertainers including filming a TNN television special with Floyd Cramer in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Barbara is listed in the Marquis “Who’s Who in Entertainment” as well as numerous other “Who’s Who” publications. Barbara is the Personnel Contractor for the Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, as well as a violinist with the symphony. She also performs frequently as a professionalfree-lance violinist and violist in the Dallas-Ft WorthMetroplex. “The Classic Strings” Ensembles was founded by Barbara in which she hires musical ensembles, from solo violinist to symphony orchestra, to play for many types of functions such as weddings, parties, and corporate events. Barbara also has a Private Music Studio in Irving, Texas, where she teaches violin and viola lessons to students of all ages from the beginning level to advanced.
Currently a violinist with the Dallas Opera Orchestra, Mr. Stone also performs with the Wichita Falls Symphony and the Texas Winds String Quartet. An experienced pedagogue, he also teaches at St. Andrew Methodist Church and maintains his own private studio. His summer performing activities include the Southern Methodist University Summer Conservatory, the Killington Music Festival in Vermont, and the American Institute of Musical Studies (AIMS) Festival in Graz, Austria. In 1985, Mr. Stone received a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Performance from Southern Methodist University. In his spare time, he enjoys cooking, waterskiing, and boating.
Natalie Floyd is a violinist in the Dallas Opera Orchestra.
