WE ARE

the Dallas Opera Orchestra: the instrumental backbone of the Dallas Opera. We are professional musicians, working full-time at the Winspear during the 15-17 weeks of the Opera season, and performing in demand with other major ensembles in Texas, including the Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston Symphonies, Dallas Summer Musicals, Winds of Change, Texas Winds, and many more.  We are also soloists, pedagogues, chamber musicians, and passionate outreach activists. Our opera repertoire is as varied as our backgrounds; we perform everything from the very old (Monteverdi, the very first opera composer) to the ink-barely-dry-still-correcting-misprints contemporary (three world premiers in 2015!), and everything in between. We love performing with the Dallas Opera and we love our audience! Feel free to contact us through this site and say "hello" to us in the pit next time you find yourself at the Winspear Opera House!

The Dallas Opera Musicians are comprised of 60 tenured members and 37 associate musicians.  Our Dallas Opera family also includes our music director and conductor Emmanuel Villaume and principal guest conductor Nicole Paiement.
